How to Fill Flash Object With a Gradient

Gradients can be applied to Drawing Objects or Merge Shapes. The gradient is placed on your object and positioned using the Gradient Transformation tool.

For more information on creating gradients, see topic Building a Gradient.

Step One

Add a rectangular object to the workspace with the Rectangle tool (r key).

Step Two

With the rectangle selected, open the fill color palette and choose a gradient from the lower swatches.

Step Three

The gradient can be re-positioned using the Gradient Transformation tool (f key).

Step Four

The controls allow you to scale and rotate the gradient.

Step Five

Click and drag the white dot to change the gradient placement and move the circle.

Step Six

Drag the triangle to move the "hot spot" within the circle.

Step Seven

In the Color palette (Window >Color) you can set the gradient to Extend, Reflect or Repeat.

Gradients and Merge Shapes

Gradients are assigned to each merge shape individually. If you have a Drawing Object that contains several Merge Shapes, you must position the gradient for each Merge Shape.
