How to Add Gradient Edge Bevel to Movie Symbol, Text or Button with Flash Gradient Bevel Filter
The gradient bevel is similar to the bevel filter except the bevel edges can be assigned a gradient color.
Add a rectangular object to the workspace with the Rectangle tool (r key).
Select the rectangle and convert it to a Movie Symbol (Modify > Convert to Symbol (F8)).
With the rectangle Movie Symbol still selected, open the Filters panel by clicking the Filters tab (Window > Properties > Filters).
Add a filter to the Filter panel by clicking the plus (+) icon and selecting Gradient Bevel from the pull-down menu.
In the dialog box you can set the Blur and Strength.
The Quality choices are Low, Medium, and High.
Angle determines the light direction and Distance sets the bevel size.
Use the color slider to choose your bevel colors. Clicking on the center box sets the overall bevel color
The end sliders control the shadow and highlight colors.
You can also select Knockout and set the bevel Type.
