How to Import Vector and Bitmapped Artwork to the Flash Stage

 

 

Importing external audio, vector and bitmapped artwork allows you to add unlimited content to your Flash files. Once the external file is imported, you can open the file in its native program and modify the file.

To update the link in Flash, double-click the file in the Flash library and click Update.

In Step Two you could also choose Import to Library and the file would be added to the library and not the stage. For more information, see topics Updating Images and Importing to Library.

 

Step One

Select a layer and a keyframe in the Layer panel where your your new imported file will reside.

Step Two

Choose File > Import > Import to Stage.

Step Three

Navigate to your external file and click the Import button.

Step Four

The file is added to the center of the stage.

Importing Sequences

If you select a file that is part of a sequence (i.e., image01, image02, image03, etc), you are given the option to import one image or bring in the entire sequence. If you choose to bring in the sequence, one image is placed in each frame of the timeline.
