Saving a SWF Movie
Flash CS3 Tutorial
How to Save Flash Output as a swf Movie
You can save a swf file of your movie using multiple methods. The easy method is by choosing Test Movie. The second way requires that you Publish the movie.
Create and save a 24 frame Flash animation and save your .fla file.
Choose Control > Test Movie (Cmd/Return (PC-Ctrl/Enter)) . The swf file is saved in the same directory as your .fla file.
A second method is to Publish your movie. Choose File > Publish Settings and click the Formats tab.
Make sure Flash (.swf) is selected.
Click the Publish button. The file is saved in the same directory as your .fla file.
Why is the Flash Player Version Important?
In the Publish Settings (Flash tab) you can set the Flash Player Version. Depending on your audience, you may want to choose a version prior to the most current.
Keep in mind that by choosing an earlier version, some of the latest features or ActionScript may not work. It is best to determine your Flash Player Version and Frame Rate when you start a project.
