How to Add Flash Shape Tween
Shape Tweens are used to morph between Merge Shapes and Drawing Objects. Shape tweens appear in the timeline as a green tween.
For a Symbol tween you would use a Motion Tween. For more information, see topic, Motion Tween.
Add a rectangular object to the workspace with the Rectangle tool (r key).
Click frame 20 of and press F6 (Insert > Timeline > Keyframe).
At frame 20, choose the Subselection tool (a key) and drag the object points to reshape the rectangle.
Right-click the timeline between your keyframes and choose Create Shape Tween from the pull-down menu.
To render your swf file, press Cmd/Return (PC-Ctrl/Enter).
The Power of a Shape Tween
Shape tweening opens a world of possibilities. You can morph between various shapes, letters, colors and designs. To shape tween text, you would need to choose Modify > Break Apart twice to convert the text to a Merge Shape before applying the Shape Tween.
Watch for Dashed Tweens
Dashed tweens tell you that something is wrong. For instance, if you assigned a shape tween to two keyframes that contained a symbol object, then the tween would appear as a dashed line.
