How to Find Quick Answers to Your ActionScript Questions

 

 

You are coding away and something doesn't make sense. If you are in the ActionScript panel you can easily access ActionScript Help.

 

Step One

Open the Actions panel (Option/F9 (PC - F9)).

Step Two

With none of the code highlighted, click the Help icon.

Step Three

You are connected to Adobe's Flash Help area. You can select a link and navigate to your solution.

Step Four

Returning to the ActionScript panel, highlight one of the reserved (blue) words.

Step Five

Click the Help button and you are taken to Help information for that specific reserved word.

Web Searches for Answers

The web is filled with sites that offer tutorials and solutions. Consider doing a search for your specific question. You would be amazed at the number of people that have asked a similar question.

ActionScript 2.0 vs 3.0

You may find a solution that was written for ActionScript 2.0. Unfortunately, most AS 2.0 scripts don't work with AS 3.0.
