Building a Gradient
Flash CS4 Tutorial
How to Customize a Gradient in Flash
With gradients you can add dimension and create object lighting effects. Gradients can be static or change over time using tweens.
Add a rectangular object to the workspace with the Rectangle tool (r key).
With the rectangle selected, open the Swatches panel (Window > Swatches) and choose a gradient from the lower swatches.
To change the gradient color, select the object and open the Color panel (Window > Color).
Click a color box, then select a new color.
You can also adjust the transparency (Alpha) of a gradient.
You can choose between Radial and Linear gradients.
Gradients and Text
If you are working with text it must be Broken Apart twice before a gradient may be applied. For more information, see topic, Gradient Text.
