How to Add Gradient Glow to Movie Symbol, Text or Button using the Gradient Glow Filter in Flash
The Gradient Glow filter is similar to the Glow filter except you set the glow color using the gradient slider.
Add a rectangular object to the workspace with the Rectangle tool (r key).
Select the rectangle and convert it to a Movie Symbol (Modify > Convert to Symbol (F8)).
With the rectangle Movie Symbol still selected, open the Filters panel by clicking the Filters tab (Window > Properties + Filters).
Add a filter to the Filter panel by clicking the Add Filter icon and selecting Gradient Glow from the pull-down menu.
In the dialog box, set the Blur and Strength.
Set the Quality to Low, Medium,or High.
The Angle and Distance can also be set.
There are also options for Knockout and Type.
The gradient color is set with the slider boxes.
Edit Filter Effects
Once you add a filter effect, you can access and edit the values by selecting the object and clicking the Filter tab.
Filters and Flash Player Versions
Filters work with Flash Player 8 and greater.
To combine the effects of multiple filters, consider adding more than one filter to an object.
