Open a color image in Photoshop (File > Open).

Step Two

Click the Create New Adjustment Layer icon and select Black and White....

Step Three

The adjustment layer dialog box appears. Make sure the Preview checkbox is selected.

Step Four

Adjust the sliders to modify your image.

Step Five

You can add a tint to your image by clicking the Tint checkbox and adjusting the sliders.

Step Six

Press OK to accept the settings. You can change your settings simply by double clicking the Black & White adjustment layer icon.
