How to Crop an Image in Photoshop with Camera RAW

 

 

Shooting in RAW format has multiple advantages over JPG. As you open a RAW image, you can quickly make multiple adjustments and crop the image.

Opening the image in Photoshop, displays the new cropped version.

 

Step One

Open a RAW image file in Photoshop (File > Open).

Step Two

In the RAW filter, click and hold the Crop tool to view the tool options. You can choose one of the preset aspect ratios or select a custom ratio. Using the Normal setting allows you to set the ratio by dragging.

Step Three

After selecting the aspect ratio, click and drag to define your crop. Press Enter to accept.

Step Four

By clicking and dragging the crop corners, you can resize and rotate the crop.

Step Five

To move the crop, click and drag the interior of the cropped area.

Step Six

You can always remove the crop by selecting Clear Crop from the Crop tool menu.

Crop Tool Shortcut

The Crop tool can be accessed by pressing the c key.
