Repairing With the Clone Tool
Photoshop CS3 Tutorial
How to Repair Images with the Photoshop Clone Tool
Photoshop includes several tools for repairing a flawed photograph. The flaw might appear in an old photograph or a bright yellow fire hydrant that detracts from the scene.
As you repair your image, you may find that using a combination of several tools is helpful (i.e., Clone Stamp tool, Patch tool and copy/pasting image sections).
Open an image in Photoshop (File > Open) that needs some repair.
Select the Clone Stamp tool (s key) and Option (PC- Alt) click the source portion of your image. Make sure you have selected the correct layer in the Layers palette.
Start painting over the repair area. The pixels from the source area are used to make the repair.
You can control the opacity of your brush by adjusting the Opacity slider. The brush size can be changed by pressing the bracket keys ([ or ]).
