How to Set Shape Color in Photoshop



Using the color picker and gradient library you can choose multiple shape color schemes.


Step One

Open a blank document in Photoshop (File > New). Set the size to 500 pixels by 500 pixels at 72 ppi.

Step Two

Select the Custom Shape tool. Set the tool options to Shape Layers and choose a shape from the pull-down menu.

Step Three

Click-drag to add your new shape to the workspace. Hold the Shift key to constrain proportions.

Step Four

Double-click the Shape Layer color thumbnail to change the color.

Step Five

With the Shape Layer selected choose Layer > Change Layer Content > Gradient.

Step Six

Choose a gradient by clicking on the triangle next to the Gradient sample swatch.

Step Seven

You can also set the Angle and Gradient Style in the dialog box. Click OK to accept your settings.
