How to Show Photoshop Document Info

The document Info can be easily displayed at the bottom of the main window. In addition to document info, the pull-down menu also gives you access to Scratch Disk Sizes, Efficiency, Timing and the Current Tool.

Step One

Open an image in Photoshop (File > Open).

Step Two

With the Layers palette open, drag the current layer to the Create New Layer icon. You should now have two layers.

Step Three

At the bottom of the window, click the triangle and select Document Sizes from the pull down menu.

The first number is an approximation of the document size if flattened. The second number approximates the size including both layers.

Step Four

Choose Document Profile to view the profile connected to your image.

Step Five

Document Dimensions displays the document width, height and resolution.

Step Six

Click and hold your mouse over the info text to display how the image will fit on the paper size selected in the File > Page Setup dialog.
