Using the Info Palette
Photoshop CS6 Tutorial
How to Use the Info Palette in Photoshop
The Info palette works in tandem with the Eyedropper tool to sample your image pixel colors.
Open an image in Photoshop (File > Open).
Select the Eyedropper tool (i key) and open the Info palette (Window > Info).
Watch the Info palette as you move around the image. Depending on the settings, you may see RGB values, CMYK values or HSB equivalents.
To change the Info palette layout, click the palette pull-down menu and choose Palette Options.
The First and Second Color Readouts can be changed to meet your needs. Once set, click OK.
The X, Y display shows the curser location in the document.
If you draw a marquee or add a shape object, the H and W dimensions display.
To change the Eyedropper tool sample from one pixel to 3 by 3 or larger, Ctrl (PC-Right-Mouse) click the document.
